Program Improvement

All current Woodrow families were mailed home a letter about School Choice for the 2012 - 2013 school year.  All current parents have the option to send their child(ren) to a non-Program Improvement school identified by the district.  School Choice applications are due to the Woodrow School Office or the Sylvan Union School District office by December 7, 2012.

Public School Choice

When schools do not meet State targets for improving the achievement of all students, parents have the option to send their child to a non-Program Improvement school identified by the district.  The No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) of 2001 gives parents of students enrolled in Title I schools that have been identified for school improvement, corrective action, or restructuring the opportunity to transfer their children to a public school that has been so identified.  In Sylvan Union School District, students enrolled at Woodrow Elementary School are eligible for school choice.

Supplemental Educational Services

Supplemental Educational Services (SES) will be offered during the 2012-2013 school year. The first enrollment window will be October 19, 2011 to November 8, 2011. The second enrollment window will be January 9, 2012 to January 30, 2012.
